Invite people to your team
An invitation is exactly one thing: a role on one scope. That scope decides what the person can see, and it is where you go to take the access back.
An invitation is a role on a scope#
Get this straight first, because every other behaviour follows from it: you are not "inviting someone to AdPix". You are granting one role, on one scope, to one email address.
- A role on a property means that property only.
- A role on an account means every property under that account — including any property created under it later.
- A role on the organization means everything beneath it.
Authority always cascades down, never up. Someone who holds a role on a single property cannot see the account or the organization above it. What they can do inside that scope is decided by their role; the full list is in roles and data restrictions.
Whatever role you grant, a member added from the access panel sees no raw events, and user identifiers — email addresses, phone numbers, the resolved global user — stay masked for them. Both are denied by default and only a platform administrator can lift them. One exception: property admin and above see their own business's user identifiers.
Two buttons, two different actions#
The access panel has two buttons and the difference matters.
| Button | What it does | Sends email? |
|---|---|---|
| Add | Creates the membership immediately. Access is live from their next sign-in. | No |
| Invite by email | Records a 7-day invitation and emails them the accept link. | Yes |
Use Add when the person already knows it is coming — a colleague sitting next to you. Use Invite by email when you want them to come in through the email. The result is the same either way: a membership with that role on that scope.
Both work on an email address, not a username. If that address has no AdPix Account yet, that is fine — the access attaches to their account the first time they sign in with it.
Where to do it#
The account access panel shows the account that the currently selected property belongs to. To work on a different account, first activate one of its properties from the picker at the top of the page.
In the property access panel the role list opens on Property admin — the highest role in that list. Press Add without changing it and you have created an administrator where you meant a viewer. Always look at the role before you press the button.
The ceiling you cannot cross#
Two limits always apply, and the message says so on the spot:
- You cannot grant a role above your own. A Property admin cannot make anyone an Account admin.
- You cannot remove a member who outranks you. Taking access away from someone above you is their own job, or a higher administrator's.
Managing members on a scope needs a role of its own:
| Scope | Required to manage its members |
|---|---|
| Property | Property admin or above |
| Account | Account admin or above |
| Organization | Org owner — Org admin is not enough for this |
The console has access panels for two scopes only, account and property. Organization-level membership is not managed from either panel.
What the invited person sees#
The link takes them to the Accept your invitation page, showing the product name and the role you picked.
- If your organization signs in with an AdPix Account, the page has a single button: Continue with AdPix Account. No password is created and nothing else is required — the access applies on that first sign-in.
- If local (operator) sign-in is in use, the same page asks for a name and a password of at least 8 characters, then sends them to the sign-in page.
If the invitation has expired or was already accepted, the page says the invitation is invalid. Send a new one.
An invitation is bound to the address it was sent to. If the person signs in with a different address, the invitation stays pending, they get no access at all — and since they are not a member yet, you will not find them in the member list either. Invite the address they actually sign in with.
Taking access back#
Every row in the member list carries a kebab menu:
Removal takes effect immediately. What it does not do matters just as much:
- Their memberships on other scopes are untouched. If they also hold a role on the account, they still see every property under it.
- Their AdPix Account and their ability to sign in remain.
- No data is deleted.
To leave someone with no access anywhere in the organization, you have to remove every membership they hold, on every scope. Closing an account at the platform level is a platform administrator's action.
Rows you cannot edit here#
The member list holds three kinds of row, and only one of them has a menu:
| Row | Meaning | Editable? |
|---|---|---|
| A role with no badge | A direct membership on this scope | Yes |
| A role with an "inherited from …" badge | The role comes from a parent scope | No — manage it there |
| None (access on a lower level) | They hold a role only on something beneath this scope | No — manage it there |
An inherited row means you are looking in the wrong place: go to the account or organization the role comes from.
An invitation you sent that was never accepted#
A pending invitation is not a membership, so it does not appear in the member list and the console offers no way to cancel it. It expires by itself after seven days. If you sent it by mistake and the person accepts before then, remove their new membership from the access panel.
Frequently asked questions#
What exactly can the person I invite see?
The scope you granted them on, and everything beneath it. A role on an account means every property under that account — including properties created later. A role on a property means that property only. What they can do inside that scope is decided by their role.
How long is an invitation valid?
Seven days. After that the accept link stops working and you have to invite again. Until it is accepted, the invited person does not appear in the member list.
Does the person need to create an AdPix Account?
If they already have one they just sign in and the access applies on that first sign-in. If they do not, they create one along the same sign-in path. What matters is that they sign in with the exact email address you invited.
What does removing a member delete?
Only their access on that one scope. Their memberships elsewhere, their AdPix Account and their ability to sign in are untouched, and no data is deleted.
